
Shawna Ludy is the new Head Coach of IllinoiSkating. This is Shawna’s second year working with the IllinoiSkating program. In her first season, she was the Assistant Coach to the Senior Team and Head Coach of the Collegiate Team.
Shawna is a PSA member. She has passed Senior Moves in the Field, Senior Freestyle, and ISI Freestyle 9. She grew up skating in Peoria, IL and began coaching all levels of skaters and ISI teams from 2000-2004. From 2004-2008, she skated for the Haydenettes in Lexington, MA, co-captaining the team for two seasons and earning a World Championships bronze medal for the Free Program in 2008.
Shawna attended Palmer Institute of Massage Therapy where she earned her certificate in Massage Therapy. She has also received her NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) foundations certificate. Shawna is also in the process of finishing her Bachelors in Exercise and Health Sciences at University of Massachusetts Boston.
In addition to skating for the Haydenettes, Shawna was also a member of the Hayden coaching staff. She was an assistant co-coach of the Mini Mates Juvenile team and worked with the older teams as an off ice Conditioning Trainer. She was also coach and choreographer of the University of New Hampshire’s Collegiate team.
