Top 10 Rules for an IllinoiSkating Parent
(Adapted from the USFSA Rules for Ice Skating Parents)
1. Understand that all skaters are students first.
2. Offer positive comments or none at all.
3. All skaters are over the age of 18 and therefore, are treated as adults.
4. Honor the bond that exists between skater and coach.
5. Do not critcize other teams.
6. Do not criticize the officials.
7. Respect the executive board and their decisions to better the team as a whole.
8. Respect the coaches and their decisions to better the team as a whole.
9. Realize that at competitions, a skater's responsibility is to the coaches and team first.
10. Support our skaters... remember that skating is fun!
